During the days you substitute teach in NWT K-12 schools you are represented by the Northwest Territories Teachers' Association (NWTTA) and your pay will reflect a 1.4 percent allocation to NWTTA dues.

Your NWT substitue teaching work may be with one, or a combination, of the Government of the Northwest Territories' Divisional Education Councils (DECs) and/or the School Boards of Yellowknife Catholic Schools (YCS) or Yellowknife Education District No. 1 (YK1). Each of these three employers has its own Collective Agreement with NWTTA members.

As a substitute teacher, you have certain rights and responsibilities as outlined in the Collective Agreement specific to your assignment.

The NWTTA believes in having an informed membership.
